Southampton Football Club moves to Office 365 with Cobweb

An existing customer, Southampton Football Club was looking to move away from their legacy hosted exchange platform to be able to take advantage of the additional features and enhanced security offered through Microsoft Office 365, and access the benefits of Cobweb’s managed services.

Specific productivity features the club required included Exclaimer for email signatures (for brand consistency) and the Skype conference bridge (to allow for a better conferencing capability).

Matthew Reynolds, the club’s IT Director, stressed the importance of realising the benefits of such a project. “Cobweb’s managed services allowed the club's workforce to benefit from the flexibility and mobility that Office 365 offers, in particular the potential improvements of communication and collaboration across our Club.

“It also enhanced IT services we offer to our organisation, and improved on the already high level of security. Cobweb delivered the project within budget, utilising available resources, and within the specified timeframe. The project went exceptionally well, with minimal user impact and a very successful migration.”

Michael Olpin, Cobweb Finance Director, says, “Cobweb are proud to work with Southampton Football Club, delivering the business benefits of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of products.

“It is a pleasure to work with an IT team who are clearly passionate about the business they work in. It is important for a football club as it is for any other business to optimise the efficiency and security of its business critical operations.

“Cobweb wishes them success on Sunday when they aim to lift the EFL Cup at Wembley.”
