Reporting to: Programme Manager

 

Role Purpose

 

To support existing services through effective resolution of software defects. To develop applications and components as allocated from the development timeline.  To act as peer reviewer of development design and architecture and to suggest and introduce new ideas which benefit the environment as a whole.

 

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

 

Qualifications:

  1. Degree level education or equivalent experience

  2. Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) or other relevant development certification.

 

Knowledge:

  1. The Microsoft application development stack
  2. Cobweb’s full service portfolio
  3. Microsoft SQL Server
  4. RDBMS, data warehousing and data mining principles
  5. Active Directory and Exchange architecture

 

Skills:

  1. Advanced .Net development
  2. Microsoft SQL Stored Procedures and T-SQL (to Microsoft SQL 2008)
  3. Demonstrable coordination and planning skills
  4. Effective communication skills, oral and written
  5. Strong customer focus
  6. Autonomous self-starter, able to solve problems, acquire new knowledge, skills and experience quickly

 

Experience:

  1. .Net development in a commercial environment, preferably SaaS
  2. Prescribed development standards
  3. Visual Studio Team System, Team Foundation System or equivalent team-based development solution
  4. Test driven development (TDD), Unit Testing or equivalent
